Remember spring swaps snow for leaves

Seems an appropriate song lyric (from "Winter Winds" by Mumford & Sons) to recall after having taken a stroll yesterday on the grounds of a Hudson Valley historical home.  I found lots of bees, flowers and blossoming trees.  I also spotted a few frogs, plenty of robins and one adorable chipmunk.  What a lovely day.  Thought I'd share some photos.

  1. Oh, it looks so nice! Lovely weather and everything in bloom! Max would love the frog - a week ago he sat for about an hour at a muddy pond, looking for frog spawn, tadpoles, toads and leeches. He's gonna be "some kind of "-ologist", like he plans to, that's for sure!

    1. You just reminded me that I saw a tadpole - just one - in that little stone pond. The frog was pretty well camouflaged until I saw one of his eyes. Max could be a...biologist. An ornithologist. An archeologist. A cosmologist. A paleontologist. A geologist. A seismologist. A herpetologist. A zoologist. So many types of -ologists!
